Unlike traditional batch milling systems, the Schematic Colloidal Mill operates continuously inline, reducing process bottlenecks and enabling greater throughput without compromise on particle size control. All models are constructed from SS 316 or Hastelloy for full cGMP compliance and long-term durability across demanding production environments.
Continuous inline rotor-stator milling head for uniform particle size reduction throughout the process cycle. Adjustable milling gap provides precise control of output particle size to meet specific formulation requirements. The homogeniser is integrated within the feeding process, enhancing dispersion performance from the point of entry.
Internal areas are hygienically designed for ease of cleaning and maintenance, with all wetted parts constructed from SS 316 or Hastelloy. The high-speed rotor operates at up to 5800 RPM and the compact, self-contained unit is suitable for direct integration into existing process lines. The design eliminates the need for dry milling and avoids associated product losses.
Continuous inline operation eliminates batch processing downtime and supports high-productivity manufacturing environments. Milling is carried out prior to the drying stage, reducing energy consumption and overall process time. Because the equipment mills without generating a temperature increase, it is particularly well suited to temperature-sensitive and thermally unstable compounds.

Automatic operation minimises operator involvement, while the ability to mill suspended material directly after crystallisation streamlines downstream processing. The Colloidal Mill is available in lab scale (CM1) and commercial scale (CM3, CMD3, CM5, CMD5) configurations. Wetted parts are offered in SS 316 or Hastelloy to suit corrosive or highly reactive process materials. Output particle size is customisable to meet specific process requirements, with bespoke flow rate and motor configurations available on request. Full cGMP-compliant builds are available for regulated pharmaceutical and life sciences environments.
