Senior Assembly Fitter – SPM Manufacturing

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Assembly Fitter to join our Special Purpose Machine (SPM)manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical assembly, alignment, and fabrication, with the ability to interpret engineering drawings and work independently. Experience in Twin Screw Extruder assembly will be considered a valuable asset.

• Perform mechanical assembly of SPMs as per engineering drawings and work instructions.

• Carry out precision alignment of shafts, gearboxes, and linear motion components using tools like dial indicators and laser alignment systems.

• Assist in in-house fabrication and minor machining tasks such as drilling, tapping, and grinding.

• Collaborate with the quality team to ensure assemblies meet dimensional and functional specifications.

• Support trial runs, FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing), and machine commissioning.

• Maintain tools, fixtures, and a clean, organized work area.

• Follow safety protocols and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

• ITI Fitter or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

• 10–12 years of hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, preferably in SPM or automation equipment.

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and BOMs.

• Skilled in using all kinds of instrumentation (measuring) tools, hand tools, power tools, and alignment instruments.

• Knowledge of GD&T and mechanical tolerances.

• Experience with Twin Screw Extruder assembly is a plus.
